No shortage of nurses

Maryland may be grappling with a scarcity of nurses, but there’s no shortage in Anne Arundel County.
Officials from Anne Arundel Medical Center and Baltimore Washington Medical Center said they’ve seen an uptick in the number of full-time nurses over the past year.
Sherry Perkins, chief nurse executive at Anne Arundel Medical Center, attributed the increase to the hospital’s reputation as a place to work, but said the recession also has played a role.
