Job Description:
Part Time Monday-Wednesday-Friday Days GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Pulmonary and Cardiac Rehabilitation Clinical Exercise Specialist/Facilitator is responsible for assessing and treating clients for pulmonary/cardiac rehabilitation, including bio/psycho/socio/spiritual needs including but not limited to exercise, education, and counseling within their scope of practice and according to departmental policies and procedures. The Clinical Exercise Specialist develops exercise prescriptions and assesses the effectiveness and responses to interventions and documents according to established standards. The Clinical Exercise Specialist must quickly and effectively respond to medical emergencies in a clinic setting and is required to assist with scheduling, clinic clerical tasks, and quality improvement activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelors Degree in exercise science, exercise physiology, fitness, or related field required.
2. ACSM certified. ACSM Clinical Exercise Specialist Certification required within 12 months of employment and maintained throughout employment.
3. ACLS certification required by end of 90-day introductory period. Subsequent renewals required every 2 years.
4. Pulmonary/Cardiac rehabilitation experience preferred.
